Did Miron Bleiberg know exactly what he was doing when he stepped down at this particular part of our season? After that cringe worthy display against New Zealand and several tough games ahead, including competition leaders Melbourne, was he lining Farina up to fail? Let's face it. If Miron had continued with his disasterous campaign through to the end of the season, Farina would have started next season with a clean slate. But with his beginning smack bang in the middle of the Roars downfall, he would perhaps not be the saviour that everyone was looking for. And that seems to be the way the cookie has crumbled. The Roar are continuing their poor form (if I wasn't such a massive fan I would start to look elsewhere for a favourite team) and Farina has not managed a Van Egmond.
Maybe there was more to Bleiberg than we give him credit for??

Ante Milicic
What can people tell me about Ante Milicic??
There's something about him that's bothering me, but I just can't figure it out.
Can anybody help me???????

Mori
The signing of Damien Mori comes as a shock to not only the players and officials, but the fans as well. Central Coast wanted to keep him on for longer, but were not able as he would have been replacing a defender, and as a striker, was not able to do so.
Their loss. Our gain.
But for how long? Mori has been with four A-League clubs now. We're the fourth obviously. He started off with the Glory and his infamous wedding ring incident and has somehow made his way onto our books.
But although he might be pulling out the goals for the Coast recently, how long can he keep it up? He's already 36 for crying out load. That's practically ancient in the football world!!

Thanks guys
Last Sunday saw the Roar players out to Richlands, not for a training session, but a mingling one. And may I just say, it was an excellent opportunity to see the players as real people, not just players. Several players confirmed their arrogance in my books, but some totally blew my theories out of the water.
Although I did feel slightly sorry for the poor players who haven't managed to master the art of speaking English yet. I have never seen anyone look so bored eating as I did when I looked around and saw Zhang eating his lunch. Poor fellow. Maybe if he stopped smoking and pulled his socks up on the field, people might want to talk to him!
And good on Marcus Wedau for getting up at the game show, even though some of the questions were lost in translation. When asked the question 'If you have a fear of wide open spaces, what do you have?' he asked his team members if he had the answer right.
The fact that Chad Gibsons face just lit up and he started laughing showed that he may not have, but Gibson forced Wedau to say his theory anyway.
His answer?
Claustraphobia???
Would love to hear stories from anyone else that was at the luncheon.

Dodgy Refereeing
I feel that the Queesland players are getting a raw deal from the referees (excuse the pun!)
I personally find several calls the referees make slightly absurd, even when they are in favour of the Roar. I think I am the only sane one in 301 who sometimes agrees with the call when everyone else around me is yelling, "He didn't even touch him".
But then again, we did start the first ever 'BULL SHIT' chant, and I do get pretty heated up in them if I feel the ref has made a bad call.
But then again, not everybody is perfect. We all make mistakes. But so many in one game? And so many HOME games in a row, by so many different referees? Our away games are fine, but our home games are pathetic.
Where's the consistancy guys?

Faranoia a realisation
Frank Farina is the new coach of the Roar. But sadly, he could not do for us what Newcastle managed after the sacking of their coach several rounds ago.
But then again, we were playing the runaway leaders of the competition, they were playing New Zealand!!
Farina is already making positive changes in my books. He has taken off Marcus Wedau (who just hasn't been performing) and re-instated the captain of the team, Chad Gibson. I mean, what was Bleiberg thinking, not letting the tem captain play? What is that telling the team, and all it's fans?
Gibson's first touch of the ball may have been a bit rusty, and almost costly, but he soon warmed to the game and had a couple of magic moments that showed why he deserved to be out there. He is a positive leader and could be seen throughout the game to be talking up his defenders, something that a captain should do. Good to see you back Chad.
But seriously, what's with the Roars hair? Or lack thereof. It seems several players including Ante Milicic, Andrew Packer, Sasa Ogdenovski, Marcus Wedau and Stuart McLaren have all lost their hair for some reason. Could someone explain to me what that is all about?
And would people please stop bagging out Reinaldo. Seriously guys, how can someone make a decent attempt at the ball when their shirt is almost choking them or being taken off by the opposite team? Every week without fail, Reinaldo is targeted and held back, with the referees seemingly oblivious to the whole event!
Don't even get me started on the referees.

Farewell Miron
Well, the ever colourful Miron Bleiberg has finally left his post of coach of the Queensland Roar. After only a season and a half, the head coach has had his resignation accepted by Roar officials and the hunt is on for his replacement. Which comes at a difficult time for Blieberg's succesor, with the Roar set to next week play the first placed Melbourne Victory.
Did Bleiberg ever think that his team may have played better had he not seen it necesarry to reshuffle the starting line up every single game?
Or that starting people with niggling injuries to see how long they last might be better than hoping like all buggery that they don't pull up short when they have already been subbed?
Well, tomorrow will show who the next coach is.
Frank Farina??
We'll see
